Harriman Associates Corporate Identity

Harriman Associates, a 129-year-old A/E firm with headquarters in Auburn, Maine, needed to develop a new corporate identity and a flexible business development and marketing collateral system. The opening of a second office, in Connecticut, presented the right opportunity to create a new identity -- one that would project a strong, vibrant image of a regional firm. We conducted an extensive survey of Harriman's present and potential clients (over 60 telephone interviews) to examine the strengths and weaknesses of the firm's current image. Sametz Blackstone Associates, a strategic communications and design firm -- our partner on this project -- then used this valuable information to develop a corporate identity and new logo that uniquely represent the strength, creativity and aspirations of both the architectural and engineering sides of Harriman. They also developed corporate business papers, quals materials, and a new folder/wrapper. The new corporate identity received a Marketing Communications Award from both the national and Boston chapters of the Society for Marketing Professional Services.

Subsequently, we, in partnership with Sametz Blackstone, developed and produced a new corporate brochure.

Dirtworks, Inc.

We designed an award-winning corporate identity for Dirtworks, Inc., a New York City-based landscape architecture firm, specializing in the design of gardens and other outdoor spaces that influence the restorative quality of healthcare environments. The identity plays off the "landscape" theme, using green and brown ink and a leafy design to communicate the firm's services. The identity received a first-place award from the Publicity Club of New England Bell Ringer Award Program and a small firm award from the Society for Marketing Professional Services.

Village Green Architects

The two principals of Nantucket Architecture Group, a small practice focused on high-end residential projects, had decided to open an off-island office in Vermont. They asked us to develop materials for this new office.

We immediately suggested that they needed a new name/identity for that office and we were asked to come up with one. The name chosen was Village Green Architects. We worked with designer James Efstathiou to develop a clean, simple, yet memorable corporate identity. What evolved was the use of a stylized gazebo - often found in many villages throughout Vermont -- as a symbol. The new identity was carried through on new business papers, collateral, ads, and Web site, and has proven to be highly successful for the firm.

Cambridge Hill Partners

A small management consulting practice faced a dilemma. They could no longer use the name that they had practiced under for over five years. A much larger, multi-national consulting practice decided that the name was too similar to their own and sent a letter to immediately desist in using it.

They asked the Fuessler Group to help them through a process to develop a new name and corporate identity. The name that was chosen was Cambridge Hill Partners, a take-off on the former name of the area in Cambridge, MA where their office is located.

While simple, the corporate identity that was developed has been easily adaptable to all marketing and electronic media.
